How do I become a patient?

Becoming a patient at a K Space Wellness involves several steps designed to ensure that ketamine treatment is an appropriate and safe option for you.

1. Initial Contact: Reach out to us at kspacewellness@gmail.com to express your interest. A representative will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

2. Medical Evaluation: You will need to undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation. This typically includes providing your medical history, current health status, and any medications you are currently taking. We do require supporting documentation from your primary care physician and mental health provider, which we can reach out to directly with your permission.

3. Consultation: Once your medical evaluation is complete, you will have a consultation with a healthcare provider via Telehealth or at the clinic. They will discuss the benefits and risks of ketamine treatment, answer any further questions, and determine if ketamine therapy is a suitable treatment option for you.

4. Treatment Plan: If you are deemed a suitable candidate for ketamine therapy, a personalized treatment plan will be created for you. This will detail the frequency and dosage of your treatments.

5. Begin Treatment: Once all the above steps have been completed, you can begin your ketamine treatments as per the schedule outlined in your treatment plan. Remember, it’s crucial to maintain open communication with the healthcare providers at K Space Wellness throughout your treatment journey. We are here to assist and support you every step of the way.

What should I prepare for my initial consultation?

Before your initial consultation at K Space Wellness, there are several steps you can take to ensure the process goes smoothly:

1. Gather Medical History: Compile a comprehensive list of your medical history, including any conditions you have, medications you’re currently taking, and any previous treatments you’ve undergone. If you’ve been receiving treatment for a mental health disorder, be prepared to discuss your history with that as well.

2. Prepare Questions: Write down any questions you have about ketamine treatment, the clinic, or the healthcare providers. This could include questions about the treatment process, potential side effects, the cost, and anything else you’re curious or concerned about.

3. Research Ketamine Treatment: Doing some research beforehand can help you better understand Ketamine Therapy and formulate more specific questions.

4. Mental Preparation: Understand that ketamine treatment is a commitment and that it may not provide instant relief. Preparing yourself mentally for this journey can help set realistic expectations and promote a positive outlook. Remember, the initial consultation is a time for you to gather information and make an informed decision about your treatment. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.

What does a Ketamine Infusion feel like?

Ketamine infusion experiences can vary greatly from person to person, and even from session to session for the same individual. Here’s a general idea of what some patients have reported:

1. Onset: Shortly after the infusion begins, patients often report feeling a sense of relaxation and calmness.

2. Dissociative Effects: As the dose increases, patients may experience a dissociative state, where they feel detached from their bodies or their surroundings. This is sometimes described as a floating sensation, or as if they are observing themselves from an outside perspective.

3. Altered Perception: Some patients report changes in their perceptions, such as intensified colors or sounds, distortions in the perception of time or space, and sometimes vivid, dream-like experiences.

4. Emotional Release: Some patients experience a release of emotions, which can range from euphoria to anxiety. Some individuals also report a heightened sense of introspection or self-awareness.

5. Post-Infusion: After the infusion, patients often report feeling a sense of calmness and relief. Some people may feel tired or slightly disoriented for a short period.

It’s important to note that while these experiences are common, they are not universal. Some people may have very mild experiences, while others may have more intense ones. Our providers at K Space Wellness will monitor you closely during the infusion to ensure your safety and comfort. Please make sure to communicate any discomfort or anxiety to us prior, during, or after your infusion.

Do you take insurance?

At this time Ketamine Infusions are not covered by insurance. We have financing available through a third party service. Many groups are working hard to change the financial barriers to this service and make insurers accept this treatment.

Will I need a ride home after my infusion?

Yes, you MUST have a ride home from your Ketamine Infusion. Driving is not permitted until the next day. It is also not advisable to make any big decisions, operate heavy machinery, or drink alcohol after your infusion for 24 hours.
